Some who stumble on this blog may wonder why I am dong this when I am trying to be active in the technology field. After all, how many Christians do you know in technology and especially my current focus of information security? The only one I can think of is Johnny Long.
I have decided that I am going to express myself, whatever the cost. I will certainly guard my words as I always do, but I will not keep silent about things just because it might cost me a job. I wish that more people had the integrity to do that, though taking the positions I do are probably more risky than if I were a radical environmentalist, for example.
I thought about Isaac Newton shortly before starting this blog. He had a great impact on the field of science, but also wrote extensively on the Scriptures. How ironic that we take his advances in science (even if his findings only apply at a certain level), yet get offended if someone follows his interest in the Scriptures.
I think we are just as bigoted as people in any other age, we just focus it differently. If you are reading this as a closet Christian, I would challenge you to not be afraid anymore. I would never recommend using it to try to gain position, but rather be an honest witness as you walk through this life.
That is all any of us can do anyway.
